Directel Group is Portugal’s leading Yellow Pages directory publisher. The company also owns and publishes directories in China and Africa. I was commissioned to create a new group-wide directory design creating visual integration for all their directories including China, Kenya, Mozambique, Angola and Cape Verde.
The new design standards bring organization to what was a previously chaotic group of publications. In addition, improved navigation, page layouts and advertising puts these directories at the forefront of contemporary information design, making the product much more attractive to advertisers, and more useful for users.
A vital part of the project was the creation of a comprehensive set of production guidelines to help Directel's internal production department to implement the new design easily and efficiently.
